If there's a drug that can alter the body's biochemistry, there's usually a combination of nutrients that can achieve the same thing without side-effects.

IV (Intravenous) vitamin/mineral infusions and IM (Intramuscular) injections are considered medicine, and require an order from a medical provider. Here at 1 Liter, we are teamed with a company called DocUSpa who provides us with a Good Faith Exam (GFE) from Texas Board Certified Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners through a telehealth service.
Call 817-999-3099 to schedule, we will need some basic information in order to send you a link via email for you to complete a short medical history and schedule a time for your 5-10 minute GFE telehealth meeting with a DocUSpa Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. The cost of the GFE is only $40.00, and you only have to do this once a year (not every time you want an IV and/or IM injection). You can book in "real time" and they are available Monday-Sunday 9:00 a.m. til 11:00 p.m.! During this call, we can also answer any questions you have and provide you with any necessary assistance.
We opted not to accept insurance because the agreements control cash prices which would literally double them. Plus insurance billing is also expensive and time consuming. If there is a medical need written by your primary care provider, insurance will often process the claim. However, without a specific, verifiable illness, insurance companies often decline to pay for vitamin therapy. We do accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, and employer provided HSA or FSA cards and there are no taxes charged. We will provide you with a receipt and information from your GFE for you to submit to your major medical carrier to see if your treatment can be reimbursed.
There is no hard and fast rule – for one person a monthly treatment may be all that’s required, for another once a week could be the recommendation. The frequency you can have either an IV or an IM booster shot, may depend on existing medical conditions, current presentation, as well as a your aims and objectives. This will be discussed with you during your GFE. We would not administer more than three IV infusions in a 72-hour period, and a maximum of two liters of fluid can be administered within 24 hours.
IM injections are best given to you as either a stand-alone treatment or used to compliment an IV. It would be best to discuss a treatment plan for long-term use with your practitioner during consultation to guarantee maximum benefit from the treatment.
You may wish to include some add-ons/Boosters or further ingredients, to one of your chosen IV drip therapies, for example some extra vitamin C for added support of your immune system. Or maybe a glutathione push for additional antioxidant supplementation.
Yes. There are a few steps you can take prior to your appointment to help you prepare and to ensure you maximize the benefits of your IV infusion. A printout will be emailed or handed to you prior to your infusion.
As a needle will be inserted into your body for both IM and IV treatments, you may feel a small pinprick sensation initially.
Our practitioners are all highly skilled in delivering injections and inserting cannulas, and they will put your mind at ease prior to any treatment being given. We are also able to offer ethyl chloride freeze spray to numb the skin before treatment.
For any IV infusions, once your cannula is inserted, you should feel no pain at all once the infusion is commenced.
The risks associated with Vitamin IV Infusions are minimal, and include typical risks of IV insertion, including bruising, infection at the site, and aching of the vein. We take great precautions to sterilize the area before insertion, and have techniques to address pain at the site. Vitamin infusions are very safe, and are given to individual patients in a formula that is safe for their individual needs and conditions.
Every person has a unique genetic make-up, and how their body will take on the infusion. This means that it may change from person to person on how quickly and for how long the effects of your treatment may act.
As a rule of thumb, the more deficient you are in a certain vitamin, the greater the initial effect may be. This does not mean your IV won’t be beneficial should you not feel any immediate effect, the treatment can still be using the vitamins and minerals to optimize wellness on a cellular level.
